3. Functionality Meets Design
A great drawer system isn’t just about storage, it’s about enhancing your daily routine with smooth functionality and smart organisation. Whether in the kitchen, wardrobe, or bathroom, Grass Nova Pro Scala delivers both style and practicality. Here’s how:
For Kitchens
✔ Effortless organisation: Ideal for cutlery, utensils, and cookware.
✔ Soft-close drawers: Say goodbye to noisy, slamming drawers.
✔ Handles daily use with ease: Built for the hectic demands of modern kitchens.
For Wardrobes
✔ Luxury feel: Silent, smooth-gliding drawers enhance everyday usability.
✔ Perfect storage solutions: Designed for jewellery, shoes, accessories, or folded clothing.
For Bathrooms
✔ Organised Vanity Storage: Perfect for toiletries, makeup, and grooming essentials.
✔ Moisture-Resistant Durability: Built to withstand humid environments without warping or sticking.
📌 Functionality should never come at the expense of design. The right drawer system enhances both, seamlessly integrating into your space while making everyday tasks effortless and enjoyable.
4. Why Quality Hardware Matters
Your joinery is only as good as the hardware behind it. Choosing premium drawer systems like Grass Nova Pro Scala ensures:
✔ Durability: Cheap hardware fails under daily use, leading to frustration and costly repairs.
✔ Aesthetics: High-quality drawers enhance the overall luxury feel of your space.
✔ Functionality: Smooth, reliable motion makes everyday use effortless and enjoyable.
📌 It’s not just about how your kitchen or wardrobe looks, it’s about how it works for you every single day.
5. Real-Life Example: Why Cheaper Isn’t Better
Imagine a busy kitchen where drawers are opened and closed hundreds of times a day.
A low-cost drawer system might seem sufficient at first, but within a year, you’ll notice:
❌ Creaking and sticking
❌ Deteriorating soft-close mechanism
❌ Sagging under weight
At Carrera By Design, we’ve seen countless clients frustrated with cheap drawer systems that failed prematurely.
📌 With Grass Nova Pro Scala, you won’t have to worry. Its superior engineering ensures flawless performance, even after years of heavy use.
6. Helpful Hints for Choosing the Right Drawer System
Choosing the right drawer system is about more than looks, it’s about durability, functionality, and long-term value. Here’s what to consider.
✔ Consider Usage: High-traffic areas need premium systems for long-term performance.
✔ Match Your Style: Grass offers various finishes to complement any design aesthetic.
✔ Don’t Skimp on Quality: Low-end drawers might save money upfront but cost more in repairs and replacements.
✔ Test Before You Buy: Always check for smoothness, stability, and noise level before committing to a drawer system.

8. Stacking Height & Internal Space Comparison
When it comes to drawers, every millimetre counts.
Internal stacking height determines how much usable space you get for storage, and even small differences can impact what you can store.
Below is a side-by-side comparison of stacking heights for both Thin Wall and Double Wall drawer systems, highlighting how Grass Nova Pro Scala gives you more usable space.
Thin Wall Drawer Comparison
Brand & Model | Pot Drawer (approx. 190mm) | Pot Drawer (approx. 190mm) | Length of Drawer Internal |
|---|---|---|---|
Grass V8 | Min Int H111mm / Usable 59mm | H222mm / Usable 184mm | PLUS 7mm |
Double Wall Drawer Comparison
Brand & Model | Pot Drawer (approx. 190mm) | Pot Drawer (approx. 190mm) | Length of Drawer Internal |
|---|---|---|---|
Grass Nova Pro Scala 90 & 186 Height | Min Int H102mm / Usable 70mm | H206mm / Usable 171mm | PLUS 7mm |
Key Takeaways
- PLUS 7mm internal length advantage in Grass drawers means more room for storage without changing your cabinet dimensions.
- Higher usable height in both cutlery and pot drawers allows for more practical, flexible storage.
- With Grass Nova Pro Scala, you’re maximising every millimetre of space, something budget systems can’t match.
Terminology Explained
- Double Wall Drawer – Drawer runner fully concealed in the drawer side, allowing for maximum internal usable height.
- Thin Wall Drawer – Drawer runner is under the actual drawer side/bottom, resulting in a loss of internal usable stacking height (the most important measurement for storage).
- Thin Wall Drawer – Drawer runner is under the actual drawer side/bottom, resulting in a loss of internal usable stacking height (the most important measurement for storage).
📌 Whether in the kitchen, wardrobe, or bathroom, more internal space means better storage and better daily usability.
